Stephanie + Evan | Badlands Engagement, Bend Oregon

There is nothing like COVID to wreck wedding plans for everyone! This has impacted so many of my couples. When Stephanie and Evan told me that their plans had to be postponed as well, I definitely felt for them. They had to push their special date off one year, but I am grateful because our paths crossed!

They wanted to have their engagement photos feature the amazing location that they live which is in Bend, Oregon. Any of you that are from Oregon or who have come here will know what a mecca this place is. We were lucky to get sun and some snow on the mountains for the shoot. They even brought their sweet pup, Olive, to come shoot too.

Stephanie works in the wedding industry and just has great taste in general, so she knows what looks great in photos. This made my job super easy when they walked out to greet me in these super fun outfits. I mean earth tones will always look great (helpful tip).

We drove out together (highly recommend for swapping favorite songs and wedding advice) which allowed me to get to know both of them even more. Evan definitely needs to eat I found, he ordered pizza from his phone on the drive home (efficient and practical), and Stephanie is a boss babe. Go to her for any fashion advice.

The location we went to was a cattle area that also allowed ATV’s in the Badlands. Super scenic and allowed us space to just run around. We moved to a second location that was literally us pulling off the side of the road and running around hopping fences. Totally worth it for the epic road shots that we captured.

I always feel like engagement sessions are such a breath of fresh air. No expectations, just running around being yourself and having fun. No one is there telling you to do something or to behave in a certain way. It truly is just you and your person together celebrating that you’re going to spend your lives together. That is magic.

Huge thank you to Stephanie and Evan for going with my crazy prompts and jumping fences. Forever appreciate the collaborative effort to make such epic photos.

xo,

Casi
