The Griffin House boasts unbelievable views of the Columbia River Gorge. It is also in Hood River which has wonderful hiking, wine tasting, and water sports. Of course with this space, it can be quite windy, so keep that in mind when considering decor, florals, candles, even what you are wearing because the wind may be something that adds to the ambiance, or it might be something you won't want for the wedding day.
The venue itself has four distinct areas: the Welcome Terrace, The Ceremony Lawn, The Reception Lawn + Tent, The Eastern Lawn. Each of these have very distinct views and serve a separate purpose. I highly recommend looking at the example photos on their website to see how each is used. The major benefit to this is that you don't have to worry about flipping or changing the spaces after you have used them. This makes transitions from one event of the day to the next go more smoothly.

Where is the Griffin House Located?
The Griffin House is nestled on the cliffs overlooking the Columbia River Gorge in Hood River Oregon. The Griffin House, Westcliff Dr, Hood River, OR 97031.
How to get to the griffin house?
If your guests are flying in from the Portland Airport, it is a convenient and straight shot (58-minute drive) from PDX International Airport to The Griffin House on Interstate 84. The Griffin house is easy to get to, however if you have a large wedding, you might want to rent shuttles to shuttle your guests from Hood River Hotels to the venue. The closest hotel is the Columbia Gorge Hotel which is a half-mile drive down the road.
Griffin House Venue Price
Pricing for the Griffin House will vary depending on the number of guests and the time of year and which day of the week you need to reserve it.
Two-Person Elopement with only the couple: $1500 Mon-Thur
Micro-Weddings (3-20 people): $5500 Mon-Thur
Small Weddings (21-50 people): $6750 on weekdays, $9450 Saturdays
Large Weddings (51-175 people): $7500 on weekdays, $10,500 Saturdays
Wedding Weekend $25,000 and includes the rental of the entire home.
Important Venue Policies and Items of Note
You can bring in any other vendors that you would like including catering, bar, florals, etc. I have a comprehensive list of vendors if you need help with vendors close to the area.
You have access to the house starting at 9 am, with guest access starting at 4pm - 10pm.
They also have a curated inventory of furniture that you can rent rather than bringing in everything in.
There are some logistical considerations when having your wedding at The Griffin House.
The maximum guest count is 175 people. If you're planning on having many driving or from out of town, a shuttle service might be useful. There is ample parking, but for large weddings, it might be useful.

Average Temperature and Rainfall
THE BEST TIME OF YEAR TO HAVE A WEDDING IN HOOD RIVER
The lowest amount of rain is in July, but ideal time is from late June through the end of August.
Average temperatures range from 70 to 90 during the day with the hottest months being early July through the end of September. With the wind, the temperature is comfortable in those months.
