This Wilamette Valley Wedding in Carlton Oregon was truly special for so many reasons. Sara and Greg have one of those love stories that is a true testament of going through the good and the difficult and shows how two people make a beautiful ending. I could feel how special this day was for them and how much of a celebration of triumph it was as well as the union between two beautiful souls.
I couldn’t help feel like I had known Sara for such a long time. She made me laugh and I kept saying how that was my job! She is so real and is just herself and I totally admire that about her. I think everyone at the wedding felt that way too. It was a very intimate day with only about 60 guests. Each one came up and gave them a hug and after I took their photo, Sara would hug them and tell me the story about how long they’ve known each other and how that person was there for her and Greg. I really felt like I was being let into their secret world and it meant so much.
The entire day and venue were completely gorgeous. Sara either made all of the decor or found the pieces that would go together. The color palette, flowers, sweetheart table, all of it was insanely beautiful. I think I went a little overboard on the detail shots, but it was hard to not!
One of the most powerful moments of the night was when Greg’s daughter gave a speech talking about how much Sara impacted her life. Sara was brought to tears and so was everyone else in the room. It truly meant so much to witness that. I could feel so much love from this family for one another.
I really enjoyed the entire day as we made our way through preparations into the evening. The Water Oasis has so many beautiful areas to take photographs. The main location for the reception let in so much natural light, which is every photographers dream, right? The little pond had thousands of frogs and a little beach, which made the entire location even more versatile. My favorite location though wasn’t super fancy – it was the field behind the reception and it ended up being the best spot for photos of Sara and Greg. The sky turned a beautiful blue and pink, which made the photos even more special. Having a wedding in the Wilamette Valley is truly spectacular.
I am so happy to share these images with Sara and Greg because I know how much they mean to them. I always say how grateful I am to work with wonderful couples, but I truly mean it. It was such a pleasure to be there for these two loving people.
