The Bindery | McMinnville Oregon Wedding Venue

The Bindery is one of the premiere wedding venues in Oregon and is located in McMinnville. Wine country! I adore Chelsey and what she has done with the space. It has been such an inspiration to work with her and really showcase the vibe. One of the most unique things about the space is the fact that it used to be the space where her family would print and put together the newspapers for McMinnville. She wanted to keep the floor tarnished and unfinished to showcase the history of the space.

The walls and ceiling are very industrial and gorgeous with the stark white paint. I love that the space can be transformed into literally anything you want. The little swans and gold details remind me of her logo with two swans interlocking their necks. It also ties in really well with The Atticus hotel across the street, which has gold details scattered throughout.

This shoot was inspired by the romantic paintings of John William Waterhouse and the gorgeous pinks and florals that he uses. The women are always portrayed in long flowing gowns and almost immortal creatures themselves. I wanted to combine it with an idea I had about the sun and the moon being sisters. I thought bringing on Kelsey from Stem and Stone Crowns would pull that idea together because of her very ethereal crown designs. She did a wonderful job really representing those ideas that I had.

Clara and Auburn are two models I have worked with before and they perfectly embody the sun and the moon. Clara has gorgeous gold curls and has this inner happiness that shines through. She was a perfect fit for the sun. Auburn has this mystery to her and channels the beautiful glow of the moon. It was such a great pairing and I couldn’t imagine doing this shoot with anyone else.

Marina Haynes is my girl. She always creates insanely beautiful makeup and hair for every shoot or bride that I send her way. I sent her a moodboard of my dream makeup and she made it come true. I especially appreciate the fact that when we’re working together, she will ask me to photograph the model so that she can check that the makeup is showing up well on camera. She is so talented. I recommend her to all of my couples.

I am especially grateful to Katie and her wife Kay from Blooms and Twine floral. The night before Katie was working a wedding in Seattle and drove all the way down to McMinnville just to do an installation for this shoot. She has always been so willing to work with me and my crazy ideas. I am so thankful I have had the opportunity to showcase her beautiful floral work.

If you are planning a wedding or even a shoot in the McMinnville or Willamette Valley, I encourage you to utilize these vendors. I am so impressed at the professionalism and quality of their work and I hope that you enjoy these images! They were so much fun to create.

Love,

Casi
