It has always been such a dream of mine to shoot a Hood River Engagement, especially a Mt. View Orchard Engagement. I saw one of the photographers I admire, Tim and Cait over at Gallivan Photo and the wedding they shot and was so excited that Karina and Blake wanted me to take their photos there! It was too bad that during the engagement session, most of the mountain was covered in clouds, but it was beautiful nontheless.
The location was beautiful of course, but so was the story between Karina and Blake. I asked them how they met and they told me that it was from a mutual friend. What was so crazy about it was that it reminded me of the song by LanCo, Greatest Love Story. I mainly thought of that because they said they were interested in each other when they met but then they moved away and didn’t really get to hang out or date until after moving back to Oregon / Washington. There were a few more parts to the story, but lets just say that after meeting, Blake tried to convince Karina to move away with him. Heart melting!
You never really know how much the couple you shoot loves each other until you get to know them- I mean obviously they love each other because they’re getting married, but I seriously couldn’t get enough of their story. Blake planned to ask Karina to marry him, but he also wanted to surprise her with a house. The only problem is that he really wanted to make sure she liked the house, so when they got engaged he wanted to ask her and make sure she liked the house, but he was already most of the way through the buying process. Needless to say, she loved the house. They ended up moving into it pretty much the same time as the engagement photos – which was so special!
I am looking forward to their wedding because Blakes father is officiating, and if there is a fraction of the amount of love during the wedding as there was during their engagement session atMt. View Orchard, I am going to end up bawling. I can’t get enough of all the love between people and being able to document that for them. <3
