How long have you been a photographer?
Where are you based and do you travel?
I have been shooting film since 2006, but shooting professionally since 2018.
I'm based in Oregon but am always down to travel. I spend quite a bit of time in Yosemite for elopements every year and am always happy to help couples with having a dream wedding or elopement anywhere.

What is your turnaround time?
How many images do you include?
I don’t have a set number of photos for each session - I typically like to give all of the good images that are composed well, convey emotion and showcase what it felt like on your wedding day or couples session. Obviously you would get decision fatigue if I gave you 20 of each pose so I like to narrow it down to 3-4 of each pose so you get some variety but don’t feel overwhelmed.
In peak wedding season it is 90 days for weddings and a couple weeks for engagement sessions. I take my time on each photo and edit a little differently from other photographers which is what makes my special sauce for my photos. :)

How do payments work?
Do you give raw unedited images?
Upon signing a contract with me, a non-refundable retainer of 25% is due with the remaining balance due a week before the wedding date. I prefer to not take the remaining balance until then. With COVID having couples having to postpone or even cancel their wedding plans, it is best to set up the payments this way to protect couples.
This is something I don’t do. I believe editing is an important part of delivering magical images and raw image files are very bland to begin with. Furthermore the kind of image files I shoot are called RAW and can only be opened in Photoshop or Lightroom.

Can you edit or photoshop us?
Do you offer discounts?
Aside from my normal edits, I don't do any commercial level retouching. I am a documentarian by nature and edit out slight blemishes or odd things out of the background of an image. If you prefer heavy editing that can be arranged for an additional fee.
The only discounts I offer are currently for couples looking to elope in countries that are on my bucket list! I would love to shoot a wedding or elopement in Ireland, the U.K., Italy, France, or Iceland. In some cases, I would only charge for the cost of transportation and lodging or waive the travel fee.

Do you photograph anything other than weddings and engagements?
How do travel expenses work?
I also shoot editorial work and branding as these are some of my passions, however I am not taking families, newborns, seniors or other kinds of portrait work aside from couples sessions.
I will add the fee into the total cost of my package and arrange for flights and booking myself. There are instances in which flights or hotels need to be changed and I don’t want my couples having to worry about doing that for me.

Do you help in the planning process?
What if there is bad weather?
100% yes! I know what makes a good photograph and what kind of logistical and aesthetic issues might arise. I am here to help you execute your vision. Period. I collaborate with all of the vendors involved and believe we are working as a team to make sure you and your partner have the best day ever. I have seen so many weddings that I am happy to advise and give you all the help necessary.
If you feel like bad weather is something that you just don’t want to shoot in, we can either reschedule or have a back-up plan to shoot in a studio. I have shot couples sessions in the studio and they have turned out chic and timeless.

What if we need to cancel or reschedule?
What happens if you can’t make it to our wedding?
That is okay! It happens! If you have to cancel your wedding completely, remember that the retainer is non-refundable but is transferable if you decide to book me at a later date. This is transferable only one time. If you have to reschedule, let me know in writing or via phone call at least a week ahead of time for couples sessions. For weddings, I need to know three months in advance.
I always want my couples to be protected. I have it set up so that if I cannot make it, I will have a photographer that is comparable to me in style come to shoot the event and I will edit the images. Refer to our contract for additional details.

What do we wear for photos?
I’ve got you! I have an entire Pinterest board and color recommendations depending if you want to go more glam or more casual. Typically neutral color palettes are best. Blues, beige, black and white are always going to look amazing. Avoid logos or distracting patterns.

Schedule The Call
After our call, when you're ready to book, I will send the proposal over. It has everything you need to book me!
I also like to include vendor recommendations and a questionnaire that allows me to gather important information to do my job well. Don't worry, this doesn't have to be completed right away.
From here, we talk about the next steps and I provide recommendations on things like the timeline, collaboration between wedding vendors, how to make sure your images turn out phenomenal.
You have me the whole year, so always reach out with questions!
Let's hop on the phone to make sure we vibe well, clarify any questions and talk about how to make your vision come to life.
